KUALA SELANGOR

The Selangor Sultanate, founded at Kuala Selangor in 1766 by the legendary Bugis ruler Raja Lumu, stil endures. The ancient cannon of the Altingsburg fort still stretch seawards across the thriving mangrove habitats of the K. Selangor Nature Park as if protecting this wetland sanctuary from invasion by 21st century bulldozers and dump trucks. You will enjoy a beautiful view of the greenery of the park.

The Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) volunteers created a sprawling wetland ecosystem that is now an important feeding and roosting habitat for abt more than 160 species of resident and migratory birds.

Things to see Silvered leaf monkey a must to check it out at the Bkt Melawati, Light House, Canon etc. Remember to bring along binocular to see the migrating birds, mangrove mudflats, water monitor largest lizard, a morning walk around the mangrove be interesting for the kids as well. Many species of waterbirds can be observed along the rich mudflat feeding grounds at low tide. The long tailed macaque is M'sia most prevalent monkey species and the lunging aerial roots of a Ficus tree anchor it to the forest floor which u can't see in future.

The Fire Flies experience is just a 10min drive from the park.
This will be a easy drive and no off road to the park. Those interested to buy seafood back remember to bring along cooler box and money. It won't be cheap but is worth buying back because of the freshness.
