The last of Telemong-Perdak

By Alyna Tai

LROM hard core kakis - a trip among members last weekend to Telemong Perdak could be a last as the track is now a real hard core with big groups every weekends. Wash out in many parts was visible as rainy season brings more erosion to the track. Lead by Atek in Lr 300, Che Mat SIII, Gideon Lr 90 and Rambeer 110 we started our journey in the morning. The weather was good but the tyre track shows that many cars are ahead of us. True enough we met some "orang asal" aborigines that there's abt over 16 cars doing some training for the ministry department. There was also another group of 6-7 Suzuki from Nilai but have to turn back down as they couldn’t find a place to camp. Then came another few from Sg. Buloh. We were thinking of reaching the waterfall campsite but things didn't turns out as Che Mat's SIII U bolt broke hitting a bolder. Atek access the damage while Rambeer head out again to get spare. The next day Atek help to repair as rain arrived.

The next day we have Vicky with Two blue arrive with our Canadian member Kevin. The two cars LR300 and Two blue 110 (V8) decided to ferry the new members up the waterfall for a swim while Rambeer stay on as camp manager. The two strong cars went up with some winching for Lr 300. Getting out of the waterfall campsite in the rain was a good time for the boys to start getting wet and dirty with winching. We have a good fun and happy to get to the waterfall just for a swim. Trees are damaged by inconsiderate off roader for not using a tree trunk protector.

The waterfall campsite is really beautiful and tracks being very challenging. Be prepared for this long rainy monsoon until January09. Never camp too near river and watch out for Dead trees before setting up your camp.

Happy wheeling.
